The skin is cooled with a spray of cryogen before each laser pulse, minimizing discomfort for the patient. Small areas can be completed in less than 10 minutes. Larger areas may take up to an hour. Four to eight treatments is typically recommended. Patients must refrain from self tanners, the sun, and tanning beds (for four to six weeks ) prior to and after treatments.
