These Acids Improve:

fine lines, age spots, acne formations, elasticity, flexibility, tone, texture, damage caused by photo-aging, roughness and mottled pigmentation.

Salicylic Acid
Salicylic Acid is the only beta hydroxy acid and works mainly as an exfoliant. It allows dead skin to slough off, making room for the growth of new cells. This acid can improve wrinkling, roughness, pigmentation, black heads, and white heads. This acid is lipid (oil) soluble, rather than water soluble like the alpha hydroxy acids. Therefore, it works better on oily skin. This acid can also be less irritating than the alpha hydroxy acids. It can stimulate the skin after a series of alpha hydroxy treatments. The use of a good sunscreen is a must because salicylic acid can cause up to 50% higher sun sensitivity.

Glycolic Acid
Glycolic Acid is an alpha hydroxy acid, or AHA. Other alpha hydroxy acids include lactic acid (milk), malic acid (apples and pears), citric acid (oranges and lemons), and tartic acid (grapes). Glycolic acid is derived from sugar cane and works as an exfoliant, making room for the regrowth of new skin. It also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. This acid can actually help reverse damage caused by photo-aging and works great on older, toughened skin. Alpha hydroxy acids have been used for thousands of years as a skin rejuvenating product. These acids are water soluble. As with salicylic acid, sun sensitivity occurs while using glycolic acid. Therefore, a good sunscreen must be worn.
